Salah El-Mur

Red Hill Art Gallery shows the second time an exhibition of his latest artworks created in 2015 - large-sized acrylic paintings on canvas - naive, distorted human figures on colourful background - "limbs of the figures can be too short, having an awkward relationship with the body, the arm is so tiny and short that it cannot reach the person’s hip, tiny palms hold cactus palms….." Figures confined in their privacy in glass houses and glass cylinders, saving animals and plants, a metaphor for the preservation of a declining world and environment.

His works can be found in public and private collections all over the world and in the permanent collection of the Sharja Museum of Modern Art of the United Arabic Emirates (UAE).

He is represented by the Mashrabia & Misr Galleries in Cairo.

Salah Elmur lives and works partly in Cairo and partly in Khartoum.
