Justus Kyalo

Justus Kyalo was born in 1972 in Nairobi. He trained as an illustrator and designer at the Creative Arts Centre in Nairobi.

He found his way to visual art through photography, dance and fashion design. His initial figurative style of painting has over the years changed into unique abstract artworks.

Kyalo is recognised as one of East Africa’s most renowned abstract painters.

He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Africa, the US and Europe, including the distinguished World Bank’s “Africa Now” exhibition, held in Washington DC in 2009. The World Bank acquired five of his abstract works that year.

Justus Kyalo lives and works in Kitengela, Nairobi.
